Coronovirus : Covid-19Emergency face shields

We used our equipment, mainly the laser cutter, to produce face shields for use in the current emergency.

Note: We have now stopped production: Demand eventually dried up and the general supply situation has now improved.

We supplied over 1300 face shields, some to an NHS hospital, an Air Ambulance, care homes, care agencies, pharmacies and others.

We used a design being widely used by many similar organisations across the UK

Face shields of this type are now readily available online, via sites such as Amazon or eBay.

Crowdfunding

3d printing

Some hackspace members also used 3d printers at home to produce face shield brims of various sorts for other organisations which are producing finished items for those that need them.
